WhileGPTThinks is a fun, lightweight Chrome extension that temporarily opens a distraction tab while ChatGPT generates a reply, then returns you to your ChatGPT tab when the response is ready. This policy explains what the extension does and how it handles your data.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal or usage data. All extension logic runs locally in your browser.
Permissions and How They Are Used
Host permissions (ChatGPT domains): Needed for the content script to detect when ChatGPT is generating (by observing the “Stop generating” button). No page content is stored or sent anywhere.
Host permission (YouTube): Needed to open and focus the distraction tab. No interaction with your YouTube account or history occurs.
Tabs: Used to open/focus the distraction tab, remember which ChatGPT tab/window you were using, bring you back when ChatGPT finishes, and close the distraction tab. Tab info is used only for this temporary navigation flow and is not stored or shared.
